Sorknes is located 3 km north of Rena in Åmot municipality in Østerdalen. The course is beautifully situated on flat pine moorland and sandy soil, making its location optimal. The playing surfaces at Sorknes can withstand more rain than most other golf courses in Norway. Rena is known for its stable inland climate, with many sunny days, making Sorknes well-known throughout the country for its high quality. We are proud to have been named one of the country’s top golf courses in the renowned Michelin Golf Guide (15 out of 20 points).
At Sorknes, you can enjoy golf alone to experience the tranquility of the forest, or you can participate in some of our friendly, social, and well-known events. You may also meet some of the country’s top golfers. The course has hosted the Birkebeiner Open, European Challenge Tour (99), and the Norwegian Championship (last held in 2005). Many participants who have played major tournaments at Sorknes tend to return.
The first nine holes at Sorknes were completed in 1992. By 1996, the last nine holes were completed, and we had a full-fledged 18-hole golf course.

- The course, with its 4 tee positions, challenges golfers of all levels (61, 56, 51, and 47)
- The first 9 holes (front) have open fairways and obstacles such as bunkers and a couple of ponds (water)
- The last 9 holes (back) have narrower fairways and water hazards (the river Skynna surrounds many of the holes)
- Adjacent to the golf course, you will find a driving range and a 6-hole short course. The short course is suitable for golfers of all ages and can be used for free.
We are proud of our clubhouse, which includes a pro shop, locker rooms, meeting room, and our golf café. From the terrace of the clubhouse, you can watch the 18th hole and reminisce about your golf game at Sorknes with good golf friends.
